Want money for a commercial venture?
It is AFG's formidable relationship with
Australia's leading banks and financial institutions that ensures its
commercial lending clients have access to a superior product range and
professional service.
"AFG is the nation's largest residential mortgage
wholesaler and it is that status among banks and financial institutions
that allows us to leverage the best deals from them for our commercial
clients," Director of Commercial Lending at AFG, Kevin Matthews said.
"When it comes to commercial finance and associated services, the range offered by AFG is second to none.
"Quite simply, we have every financial product and
service a business person could want – be it a hairdresser wanting to
set up their own salon, a financial adviser to a large multi-national
company wanting to borrow millions of dollars for a take-over bid, to a
property developer requiring finance to build an up-market hotel.
"Our members also tend to spend a lot of time
helping many of our current residential home loan clients purchase an
investment property."
Mr Matthews – who has more than 29 years experience
in the financial industry – said it was his personal responsibility to
endeavour to find and periodically assess what products and services
commercial clients wanted.
It was important he said, to be sensitive to market conditions and respond quickly to the changing demands from clients.
A large part of Mr Matthews' time is spent talking
to AFG members and determining from them what range of products and
services commercial clients required to satisfy their funding
requirements.
"I've been on both sides of the fence and understand both points of view," he said.
"I know what it is that a broker wants to achieve
for their client and I also know how a large financial institution
operates from an insider's point of view."
Mr Matthews – who has been a licenced Finance
Broker for 15 yrs, is a fellow of the Mortgage Industry Association of
Australia and an executive councillor of the Finance Brokers
Association of Australia, said it was his professional training that
stressed to him the importance of clients always obtaining ethical
advice.
"At AFG, all our members have to adhere to industry
standards – which we support – and our own in-house ethical
guidelines," he said.
"I think part of the reason our members are proud
to be associated with AFG is because of our standing in the industry
which is directly attributable to the ethical standards we enforce
coupled with the education and training programs we are continually
co-ordinating for them."
